Key ranking facts:
JGLS is the only Indian law school that is a member of the LNAT Consortium, based at the University of Oxford in the UK. The LNAT-UK test is considered the gold standard in law school admissions, with member schools including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, King's College London, Durham, and Glasgow.
100% of admissions to the flagship 5-year law programmes — including BCom LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), and BA LLB (Hons) — as well as the 3-year LLB degree, are based on LNAT scores only. No other entrance exam is accepted for these programmes.
This makes JGLS a uniquely important destination for students preparing for the LNAT in India. A strong LNAT score is your only pathway in.

Step 1 — Fill the JGLS Application Form
A candidate must complete the online JGLS Application Form at lawadmissions.jgu.edu.in and separately register for the LNAT-UK test at lnat.ac.uk before the stated deadlines.
Step 2 — Register & Appear for LNAT-UK
The LNAT-UK is a standardised, globally benchmarked admissions test that evaluates critical thinking, advanced English, and reading comprehension skills. It focuses on assessing aptitude for legal studies rather than subject-specific knowledge or memorisation.
The LNAT test comprises two sections: Section A is a scored component of 42 multiple-choice questions based on complex reading passages (score out of 42, no negative marking), and Section B is an unscored essay. Importantly, JGLS does not require or consider the essay section — only Section A MCQ scores are used for JGLS admissions.
Step 3 — Shortlisting & Offer
The selection process is a blend of academic merit, LNAT performance, and profile-based evaluation. JGLS considers the LNAT score as the key parameter, alongside academic records and a Statement of Purpose (SOP).
Key LNAT Details for JGLS Applicants:
The total fees for the 5-year LLB programme are approximately ₹47 lakh, while the 3-year LLB totals approximately ₹28 lakh. The JGLS fee structure includes programme charges, residential charges, and refundable deposits.

JGLS offers over 300 merit-cum-means scholarships based on LNAT-UK scores. Additionally, the LNAT test fee of £120 (GBP) is waived for admitted students — it is adjusted against the first-year tuition fee.
